Andrew Staniforth is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalytically
orientated psychotherapist. He completed the Clinical Psychology Program
at the Australian National University in 2006 and recently finished a
one year course with the Sydney Institute of Psychoanalysis.
Before Andrew established HeartSoundMind Consulting, in 2022, he developed his clinical practice through extensive work in mental health, university counselling and private practice, working with individuals who experienced a broad spectrum of emotional and psychological ill health, desire to optimise performance and leadership struggles.
Andrew is a collaborative and curious therapist. He is focused on creating and sustaining therapeutic space that enables a process of discovery and emergence of the life the person wishes to live. Andrew works with all adult presentations with a particular interest in enduring issues, such as trauma and personality struggles. He also works with couples.
In addition to clinical work, Andrew is registered to provide supervision to clinical psychology registrars and is able to provide supervision and consultation to other clinicians seeking to reflect upon the way they practice and work with clients.

Dr Miranda Boal is a clinical psychologist who has extensive experience
working with children, adolescents and families. Miranda incorporates a
developmental and attachment perspective into understanding the needs of
each child and family she works with. Family and school impacts/needs
are also considered when working with a family to develop a treatment
plan. Miranda aims to develop playful and creative interventions that
are engaging and strengths based.
Miranda has experience working in the following therapeutic domains: Mentalization Based Therapy, Family Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Circle of, Security Based Interventions, and Autism Assessment.
Miranda works with children and adolescents of all ages and presentations, including work with parents and infants and very young children. Miranda also provides clinical supervision.

We offer assessments in a warm and supportive environment. Our team is client focused and conduct assessments in a therapeutic manner with the goal of helping you and your child feel heard and comfortable. Our hope is that through thorough assessments we can help you identify particular goals/needs which can be addressed collaboratively in therapy as well as helping with general wellbeing at school and home.
